We rented a lovely holiday cottage in Corwen, North Wales. It is very easy to get to - Just up the M1, M6, M54 and A5 (Or if you like the scenic route just the A5).
This one is pretty much the same as Google Maps tells you to go except that I carry along the A36 rather than going up over the hill. This means that when you get to bath you have a chance at parking in the last remaining free parking space near where the canal goes under Beckford Road.
This is another work related journey - though I learnt it from my wife, who in turn learnt it from her Dad. We also use it to go shopping at the Galleria shopping centre. It is a good route except that over the years speed restrictions keep popping up and also the lower luton road through Batford can be a bit slow some mornings.
I used to have to drive to Chesham from Luton every day to get to work. As is my style I generally try various routes and generally settle on one that feels the quickest. So this route was honed from a number of years commuting.
It is as close to a straight line as roads allow and generally was not prone to too much traffic. I used to allow an hour to get to work and was always on time.
This is a blog on ways to get to places. They may be places I go to, have been in the past, or have heard good tips from other people. Sat-navs and internet route finders are all very well and good but you can't beat information from some one who has done it.
